'PACK & SEND was chosen because of their specialist experience in transporting fragile, large and valuable items – especially internationally. Their experience together with their highly flexible and personal service meant that we knew the items would be in good hands.'
Following the collapse of the Caterham Formula 1 team into administration Wyles Hardy; specialist valuers and auctioneers were appointed to manage the sale of the team’s assets.
These were housed within the 40 acres Caterham F1 site and included a varied collection of items from the hospitality catering units to precision engineering equipment and pit lane control desks to the cars and car parts themselves.
In total there were over 100,000 individual items which ranged from wheel nuts through to 40-tonne planning tables used to build the cars on.
It was PACK & SEND’s unique ability to provide bespoke packing and shipping options for every item, no matter how large or small, that led to the appointment combined with the ability to handle an operation of real scale – the auction was the biggest of its kind ever held within the UK and at one point PACK & SEND were handling a shipping enquiry every minute from potential buyers.
PACK & SEND have subsequently provided packing and shipping solutions on a number of high profile business asset sales including the Manor F1 team and the Vertu mobile phone company.
