This is a G-Pod - an open air buggy that is a similar size and layout to a Bubble Car. It's a great way of getting about, but, as PACK & SEND Southampton's customer was an Adelaide-based collector of these cute cars then the task was to get it safely to Australia for him.
The answer was to drain the fuel and oils, partially dismantle it and then create a custom crate to ensure trouble-free transit to Adelaide. The buggy went on a PACK & SEND sea freight service and arrived safe and secure in a matter of weeks to a happy and satisfied customer. |
We recently collected a pair of china stork statues that needed to get to their new home in the United States.
These beautiful works (inset) were obviously fragile, and at close to a metre tall, they needed very strong packing to ensure that they were not damaged on their journey. The solution was a high quality padded wrap around each bird before being encased in a bespoke hard foam case and then a solid card carton.
Both birds are now proudly on display in their new home courtesy of PACK & SEND. |
This magnificent grandfather clock was part of a probate distribution and was collected from Winchester to be shipped to Germany on the kind recommendation of local auctioneers - May & Sons.
Experience of handling such pieces told us that the clock would need to be separated into two pieces - the mechanism and the case - hence the two boxes in the photograph above.
The body was carefully wrapped in high quality wrap and then crated in a double layer cask whilst the mechanism was encased in bespoke foam packing in a separate crate. |

Colin
Just a big thank you to you and your staff for a job well done.
My crate finally arrived today after a long customs clearance probably
not helped by all the bad weather we have had here since Boxing Day.
I was very impressed indeed by the quality of the packing you had
done, and peeled it off layer by layer, until I saw the models in
perfect condition underneath.
I was a little apprehensive when the truck arrived today, wondering
how the models had travelled, but I think the way they were packed
they could have travelled up side down !! Our driveway was a deep
layer of snow with a thick layer of ice on the top, I had been salting
all day and thought I hope after all these miles the guys don't slip
and drop the crate on the ice, but all went well.
I will without question recommend your services to anybody, now all I
have to do is to persuade Dad to build yet another model, because
shipping it from the UK to the USA is the easy part!
many thanks again
Best regards

Colin,
I am writing to congratulate on the efficient manner in which you and your colleagues at Pack and Send handled our requirement to dispatch one hundred pieces of bone china to Canada. I can report that the container was delivered to the home address, on schedule with no damage to the items packed inside.
Your competitors were considerably more expensive and indicated that they would only deliver to the nearest international airport where the container would be released to the recipient provided he could prove to customs that the items were purely domestic.
Not absolutely sure what that was all about considering Pack and Send delivered directly to the door without any issues. Well done and many thanks.
Regards

G'day Colin,
No need to worry this end as the guitar has arrived, complete with the strap and all that was expected. Now, that was quick mate! 1 day 6 hours and its here. I have never seen more secure packaging and would write a glowing report (as if you / your company need/s it) at any time if requested. Even the delivery chap was pleasant, unlike Fedex. Customs and handling at about £62 and Bob's your uncle.
Altogether, I'm very pleased with all aspects of 'Pack & Send' including your own personalized input.
I will wait for Stephen to come back from holidays and request that he uses your services for the shipment of other equipment already purchased in GB.
My best to you and all involved in the shipping and handling of this consignment.

One of the first requests received by PACK & SEND Southampton was to help the family of a former RAF Engineer to fulfil his final dream following his death last year. He had always wanted to fly on a Lancaster bomber and the Southampton team were entrusted with getting Flight Lieutenant Jim Smeeton's ashes to RAF Coningsby to meet his last hop - part of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
The Southampton store is one of the largest in the world and was proud to undertake such a rewarding task in their first days of trading.

Whether it is 30m of luxury cruiser or a high speed rib, owning a boat brings fun and happiness, and for the thousands berthing at the Southampton Boat Show each year, there is always something for everyone.
PACK & SEND services are ideal for boat owners too. We can get your damaged sails to the repairers, your water skis to your holiday resort or a new propeller delivered to your boat.
We can even send your personal effects to meet your boat - wherever it is moored. |
This model train was one of a set that needed to travel to an exhibitor in China. At £5000 each, these detailed models needed robust packing with great care and attention to ensure that they would arrive safely.
As with all our stores, PACK & SEND Southampton are experts in secure packing and crating techniques and used our unique foam-in-place service to secure the models before securing each one in a bespoke wooden crate.
Now on show in China, the model is proving a great hit with railway enthusiasts young and old. |
